Hurray for me – I’ve managed to find a Blair’s sauce I can manage, rather than one that’s trying to kill me.
I’d tried ‘Beyond Death’ (heat rating 7) before this and it damn near finished me off, it was that hot.
Even though this Jalapeno Death only rates 1 point lower on the good Doctor’s scale, it is in truth nowhere near as hot as ‘Beyond Death’ which makes it palatable and enjoyable in equal measure.
There’s a nice warming glow when you finish your meal, and there’s a lovely jalapeno taste to it too that rivals any other similar sauce on the market. Lots to recommend it in other words.
For a good combination of heat vs flavour I’d recommend this one for sure.

The rating is obviously subjective, and my 3/5 rating perhaps better reflects my disappointment in the expected level of hotness, rather than the poor taste. Because the taste itself was pretty good, but sadly I was let down by how mild this sauce is. I would rate it as 4 on the pain level. Looking forward to trying some hotter Blair’s sauces!
