Slap Ya Mama is a bold celebration of flavour, family, and Cajun tradition. Based in Ville Platte, Louisiana, our journey began in 1996 when Anthony “TW” Walker couldn’t find a Cajun seasoning that packed flavour without heavy salt. So, like any true Louisianan, he gathered his family and made one.

Inspired by his mother, Wilda Marie, and with help from his wife and two sons, TW created the first batch at his grandmother’s kitchen table. Even the kids pitched in—rolling an old pickle jar across the floor to mix the blend. Soon, everyone in town loved it.

Naturally, it needed a name. Mama Jen suggested “Slap Ya Mama,” inspired by TW’s famous Atomic Potatoes. With Wilda Marie’s blessing, the name stuck—and the brand was born.

Since then, we’ve expanded far beyond our original seasoning. Today, our product line includes fry batter, classic meal mixes, and more. However, our mission remains the same: to bring the taste of real southern cooking to tables across the globe.

At our core, we’re deeply tied to the Cajun culture of Ville Platte—from festivals and smoked meats to Saturday mornings at Fred’s Lounge. The Walker family continues to live this rich, flavour-filled life and proudly shares it with you.
