David Ashley is the chief alchemist behind the Mad Dog range and his fastidious commitment towards quality has rightly earned him an enviable reputation amongst serious chilli-heads the world over.
Like many of his fellow pioneers within the hot sauce world, David started in his own kitchen but, after five gruelling years and many plaudits, he was encouraged into commercial production by his wife.
Personally I think Mrs Ashley was a very wise woman because Mad Dog is now one of the most respected brands within the hot sauce world and, with the recent addition of the finest, pure chilli extracts ranging in heat from 2 million to 5 million Scoville Units, David has shown that a true alchemist never rests on his laurels.
